Eleventh Anniversary ceremony
Tsubaki Grand Shrine in Stockton celebrated its eleventh anniversary with a ceremony April 4 at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Yukitaka Yamamoto came from Japan.
Rev. Koichi Barrish came from Granite Fall in Washington, to help with the eleventh anniversary ceremony. He already conducted to help anniversary ceremony of Tsubaki America three times at this year.
Forty people participated in the ceremony, which started with a purification ritual called "syubatsu" and symbolically purified the offering and people in attendance by waving the Haraegushi. A beginning bow was dedicated to the Kami, and the door of the shrine was opened by the priest.
The priest dedicated food offerings to Kami, and Rev. Yamamoto recited a prayer, Norito. The priest and participants dedicated branches of ever green, Tamagushi. The ceremony ended with a final bow to Kami.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed the food and drink(sake) dedicated to the Kami. Guests also enjoy talked with Dr. Yamamoto.
