Course Description:

This course is the major opportunity to gain experience in working with teachers. It is in this set of field experiences where students will refine their skills learned in the previous courses, and demonstrate that they are able to plan and teach cooperatively with teachers in all curricular areas using appropriate informational resources and educational strategies, to practice, demonstrate and incorporate important administrative leadership skills. A primary goal is to make the most effective use of opportunities to work alongside, practice and apply the knowledge and skills obtained in the various LMT Services Credential program, under the mentorship of a successful, credentialed LMT. Placements will assure that candidates will work with all grade levels.

It is the responsibility of the student to locate and arrange with the site LMT for the field work placement opportunity. Each of the placements must be approved in advance by the LMT Services Credential Program Coordinator. Supervised field experience is required in school library media centers at both the elementary and secondary school levels. The experiences include meetings with the LMT Services Credential Program Coordinator and school site LMT Supervisors for focused discussion and progress evaluation.
