BEHAVIOR:

 

EMERGENCE:

  • Larvae leave the water and pupate in cells in protected areas along the shore
  • The adults disperse widely and once they find a suitable aquatic habitat they rarely, if ever, fly again
  • The only movement would be in the drift
  • Live for up to a year, most are semivoltine
