I was a “returning” student in 1973. That Vietnam thing kinda got in the way. One of my favorite memories was, in that I was older, I remember the instructor making a joke and, while I laughed, everyone else wrote it down.

Today, some of my past instructors are now my customers in our bicycle shop. Occasionally, when a repair is delayed, they admonish and say “you never could get your work done on time.”

When I was at Chico State, there were two very beautiful girls—I know because I dated one and married the other. For Ann to become the mayor of Chico is truly amazing. I'm a very proud guy.
