Reinstatement Appeal





Your appeal will be reviewed by the academic status committee for your intended major. Committee members look for clear evidence that you have resolved the problems which led to your academic difficulty.

To return Fall 2015 submit:

1. Readmission application: Oct/Nov 2014
2. Application for Reinstatement: March 2, 2015 through Friday, April 3, 2015.

To return Spring 2016 submit:

1. Readmission application: August 2015
2. Application for Reinstatement:  September 2015 *Specific Date TBA

Reinstatement Timelines

Disqualified students are eligible for admission and enrollment one academic year (two complete semesters) following their disqualification.

Fall Term Reinstatements

  • Apply for readmission to the University in October/November the year prior to the desired return.
  • Formally Petition for Reinstatement to the University in April (specific deadline varies by semester, see dates below)
    • For example, if interested in Fall 2015 return:
      • apply to the University in October/November 2014
      • submit Petition for Reinstatement by stated deadline in April 2015

Spring Term Reinstatements

  • Apply for readmission to the University in August the year prior to desired return.
  • Formally Petition for Reinstatement to the University in September the year prior to desired return (specific deadline varies by semester, see dates below)
    • For example, if interested in Spring 2016 reinstatement:
      • apply to the University in August 2015
      • submit Petition for Reinstatement by stated deadline in September 2015

Important Note: The online Reinstatement Application System will not save work towards an appeal. You must submit the appeal in order for it to be saved. Be prepared to submit everything at once.

  • Appeal Letter
  • Transcripts for work completed outside of CSU, Chico since disqualification
    • Saved electronically, ready to upload to your appeal.
  • Work-In-Progress forms for current term
    • May be submitted to Academic Advising Programs SSC 220 two weeks after appeal deadline
