Anna Flores

Academic Advisor

Liaison to the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences

Anna graduated with a Bachelor’s in Social Work (BSW) in 2015 and a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) in 2016, both from CSU, Chico.  As a transfer student from Butte Community College, Anna continued her involvement in student clubs and organizations during her undergrad at Chico State.  Two in particular, L.E.A.D. (Leaders Educating for the Advancement of Dreamers) and REACH (Raising Educational Achievement in Collaborative Hubs), gave her the opportunity to work with first generation students to achieve their educational goals through self-advocacy.  It was this involvement that encouraged her to apply for an internship as a student intern with the Academic Advising Programs in January 2014 as well as serving as a Peer Advisor for the Summer Orientation Program.  Upon graduating with her MSW, Anna became a full-time Advisor with the Academic Advising Programs in 2016. In the transition from intern to professional, Anna will continue to serve diverse student populations by providing them resources and guidance needed for academic success.  Along with her role as Liaison to the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, Anna will also play a key role in working with undeclared students, helping them “try on” different majors by way of exploring general education courses.  Anna enjoys reading historical novels, sewing and scrapbooking, and is a big fan of British television, especially Dr. Who.
