Many of the assignments, illustrations and templates in the course require a spreadsheet. This casebook uses excel as its spreadsheet program. If you are unfamiliar with excel, a tutorial can be downloaded by clicking here. For downloading purposes the file has been compressed to 247KB. After downloading the file, copy it to your hard drive before "extracting" (uncompressing). Do not extract it to a floppy as the extracted file will be over 8 MB.
To uncompress the file, go to windows explorer and double click on the downloaded file which is named "excel_in_00.zip". The WinZip program will then ask you to what directory you want the extracted files to be copied. Be sure to make note of the directory that you designate. To accept the directory suggested, simply select OK. You do not have to check the box for creating a directory structure. When extracted, the file will be called excel_in.doc and can be opened using Microsoft Word. The Word file is 28 pages long and can be printed using the print command.
