Hello everyone, my name is Marlene. I was born and raised in Salinas, CA (near Monterey Bay). It is exactly four hours and 24 minutes south of Chico (fun fact). The reasons I picked Chico State as my university are because, one, it was far away from home, and two, I wanted to experience a different environment. Chico has definitely fulfilled those needs.
I am double majoring in psychology and child development with a minor in Spanish. This is currently my third year at Chico State and I absolutely LOVE IT HERE!!! The professors are great, the community itself is amazing, the resources that the University offers are a huge help. The campus itself is gorgeous, and everyone is super friendly.
My sophomore year, I studied abroad through the University for one semester in Madrid, Spain, which was an indescribable experience. The architecture and city were breathtaking, and I wouldn't have been able to witness it if it weren't for Chico State.
Since I've been here I have been involved with clubs on campus, participated in community service, and I am currently working on campus as a tour guide in the Office of Admissions. I am a proud sister of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Incorporated. Chico State has been the best choice for me.
