College of Humanities and Fine Arts
Current Initiatives
- Existing and new scholarships: As a student-centered college, we continually seek new scholarship and award opportunities to recognize and encourage student achievement. Currently, we seek a legacy gift to support the College of Humanities and Fine Arts Outstanding Leader Award.
- Symphony patrons: Donor contributions strengthen the foundation of support for the North State Symphony, a highly regarded professional orchestra serving Redding and Chico with occasional concerts in other regional communities. We currently are seeking donor support to sponsor and/or endow Musician Chairs in our orchestra – a way of bringing significant support to the symphony, and celebrating the high-quality musicians who make the orchestra possible.
- Janet Turner Print Museum: Planning and fundraising is underway to seek a permanent site for the Janet Turner Print Museum, a collection of priceless prints that spans centuries and includes masters such as Picasso and Matisse as well 20th century artists such as Janet Turner.
Court Theatre: Donors and corporate support make possible Court Theatre, the longest-running summer stock theatre in the state college system history. Scholarships, endowments, and annual giving opportunities are available to help support this theatre tradition that provides community entertainment and rigorous training for gifted theatre students.
