Benefits of Membership

The Journal of the Audio Engineering Society: A ten issue per year subscription to the Journal is sent to all membership grades and is included in the annual dues.

Discounted Admission: Registration fees for AES conventions and conferences, as well as pre-prints of papers read at these technical meetings are available to members at reduced rates. Member registration discounts at one convention can almost pay for one year's membership dues.

Discounts on Special Publications:
All society publications are available at discounted rates to the membership. This includes the Cumulative Index of AES Journal articles, the Anthology series of selected Journal papers, and the extensive catalog of technical standards on critical technologies in the audio industry.

Many of these special publication can be purchased online using the AES Secure Transaction Server. Other AES Publications will be available for online purchase soon.

Advance Meeting Notice: Schedules of AES conventions and
conferences are mailed to the entire membership. Meeting notices and
newsletters for local section activities are sent by each section to
members in their area.

Local Section Activities: Section meeting participation
keeps members up-to-date with new developments and provides a valuable
avenue for exchange of ideas and experiences with other professionals.
This networking can serve to further career advancement. Moreover, such
participation offers the dedicated participant the possibility of future
involvement as an officer of the society.

Awards Program: The society has an active awards program
to recognize contributions of its members to the field of audio
engineering and to the society itself.

Insurance Programs: The AES is a member of Seabury &
Smith, Inc. United States-based AES members can avail themselves of
Life, Disability Income, Excess Major Medical and Medicare Supplemental
Insurance programs at very attractive rates. The programs are available
to all AES membership grades on an optional basis.

Job Board: All AES Members can access a job board that lists
jobs from AES Sustaining Members.
