Alyssa Schager


Personal Information

Alyssa is a native of the foothills of Amador County. She attended San Joaquin Delta Junior College prior to transferring to California State University, Chico. She was a member of the livestock judging teams at both colleges and ultimately honored as a member of the All American Livestock Judging Team in 2001. Alyssa obtained her Bachelor of Science degree and teaching credential from CSU, Chico in 2003 and her Master of Education from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2005. Her teaching career consisted of teaching at Delta and Elk Grove High Schools. Her 10 years of instructional involvement enabled her to gain invaluable experiences inside and outside the classroom. From supervising various Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects to serving as a FFA advisor for a 500-member FFA chapter to coaching state and national champion FFA Career Development Event (CDE) teams, Alyssa is excited share her expertise with agricultural education students in the College of Agriculture. Awarded the California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom Vocational Teacher of the Year in 2008 and California Association FFA Star Advisor in 2011, Alyssa is equipped with a resume that matches her passion for agriculture and care for students.

Alyssa, her husband Wes , and their two sons live in Orland where they also run beef cattle and help at the family dairy.

Alyssa is a member of California Agriculture Teacher’s Association (CATA) and California Women for Agriculture (CWA).
