North State Precision Ag Expo and Farm Business Forum

The CSU, Chico College of Agriculture is partnering with the Glenn County Fairgrounds and Legacy by Design, LLC to offer the inaugural North State Precision Ag Expo & Farm Business Forum held at the Glenn County Fairgrounds in Orland, Calif. on Nov. 15–16. The event will feature seminars, workshops and panels on the newest-in-precision agriculture technologies and best business practices. Attendees will also have access to a trade show, small workshops, continuing education hours, live demonstrations and networking opportunities. 

College of Agriculture Dean John Unruh will be the keynote speaker for the event’s opening breakfast on Tuesday, Nov. 15. Unruh will share his perspective on the future of agriculture education and its role in California agriculture. Additionally, several CSU, Chico faculty members will provide workshops and presentations during the Farm Business Forum.

The Precision Ag Expo is designed to teach today’s farmers and ranchers about the newest agriculture technologies. Seminars will expose attendees to the best ways to use soil monitors, drones for spray applications, apps to improve the way growers do business and more. Running concurrently with the Expo, the Farm Business Forum will introduce attendees to successful succession planning, family consulting, financial planning, leadership development and creating a successful business culture. The Forum is intended to share best practices in farm business management and give attendees the tools to apply them in their businesses.
