College of Agriculture to Host Events for Alumni and Friends

CSU, Chico College of Agriculture will host two separate annual events this winter. The 13th annual Ag Social at the Red Bluff Bull and Gelding Sale will take place on Jan. 25, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium at the Tehama District Fairgrounds. On Feb. 6, the 11th Annual Colusa Farm Show Breakfast will take place in Saint Bernadette’s Hall, 745 Ware St. in Colusa, Calif., at 7 a.m.

The College of Agriculture will host the Colusa Farm Show Breakfast in collaboration with the California Ag Leadership Program and Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $25 by contacting the College of Agriculture Office at 530-898-5844. The ticket price will rise to $30 at the door. All proceeds from the breakfast go to the College of Agriculture and the California Agriculture Leadership Foundation.

The success of both events over the years has allowed the Chico State Ag Alumni committee to increase scholarship offerings from $2,000 to $10,000 and provide ongoing funding for hands-on education at the Paul L. Byrne Agricultural Teaching and Research Center, or the University Farm.

For more information about either event, please contact Sarah DeForest at 530-898-3737 or sdeforest@csuchico.edu.
