Career and Internship Fair a Success

California State University, Chico’s College of Agriculture hosted the 8th annual Career and Internship Fair on Feb. 16, 2011 at the University Farm.

Thirty-five companies attended the Career and Internship Fair to recruit students, including Monsanto, Agri Beef Co., Pathway to PCA, Dow AgroSciences, Rabobank, E. & J. Gallo Winery, Driscoll’s and Harris Moran Seed Company.

Over 350 eager students attended the Career and Internship Fair to meet with potential employers and explore career paths. There was a broad range of opportunities available for those looking for summer internships and those searching to find a potential career in areas of plant sciences, animal sciences and agricultural business.

Kirby Swickard, a senior in agriculture business, was interviewed by JBS Five Rivers Cattle Feeding shortly after the career and internship fair ended. Swickard commented, “I was excited going into the Career and Internship Fair and coming out with an interview. It gave me the opportunity to network with the people of JBS and get more familiar with a great company.”
