College of Agriculture Wins Deans' Cup

The College of Agriculture took first place in the CSU, Chico 2013 Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA), known on campus as the Deans’ Cup. The CLA is an open-ended assessment that provides a measure of an institution’s contribution to the development of its students’ critical thinking and writing skills.

In the spring semester each of the seven colleges within the University selects graduating seniors to take the assessment. The assessment creates an academic competition between the colleges for the Deans’ Cup trophy and a year of bragging rights. The high scorer on each team received $100, and the overall high scorer received $500. This year’s competing seniors from the College of Agriculture included Joanna Bloese, Leslie Bowen, Katherine Dykier, Christie Hobby, Luke Milliron, and Dylan Rogers. The agriculture team’s high scorer was Katherine (Casey) Dykier.
