Students Attend 53rd Biennial Conclave and NALC

Alpha Zeta, a national agriculture honors fraternity, held its 53rd biennial Conclave and National Agriculture Leadership Conference (NALC) March 31- April 3, in St. Louis, Mo. California State University, Chico College of Agriculture students Kayla Dennis and Suzanne Perrin attended the conference as representatives of the CSU, Chico Alpha Zeta chapter, California Eta.

The National Agriculture Leadership Conference is held annually for Alpha Zeta members to attend workshops on career and personal development, chapter development, and issues in agriculture.  Every other year, NALC is held in conjunction with the Alpha Zeta Conclave. Each Alpha Zeta chapter is required to send at least one representative to attend the conclave to review bylaws, elect high council members, and discuss issues within the national organization. Perrin served as the California Eta representative for conclave activities.

Dennis and Perrin received funding from Superior Ag as well as a grant of $1,000 from the CHS foundation to attend the conference and conclave. The CHS Foundation works to support agriculture, the rural community and cooperative business by supporting students in education and leadership in agriculture.
