No Kidding, the Northern California Meat Goat Association is the real deal
California State University, Chico's College of Agriculture hosted the Northern California Meat Goat Association's quarterly membership meeting on Saturday, September 12 at the University Farm Sheep and Goat Unit. With more than 60 attendees, and roughly 80 percent having never visited CSU, Chico's farm, it was a great opportunity for association members and students to mingle and collaborate within the meat goat industry.
The meeting included a guided tour of the unit and farm, a seminar on meat goat carcass grading, raffling off of a scale and generous donations to the University Farm. The association kindly donated a ton of hay to the unit and meat goat products for tasting during the Sierra-Oro Farm Trail weekend to take place this October.
