College of Agriculture Inducts Wittmeier Auto Center into Hall of Honor
The California State University, Chico College of Agriculture inducted Wittmeier Auto Center into its Hall of Honor during a reception held at the University Farm on Oct. 10. Since 2002, Wittmeier Ford and Wittmeier Chevrolet have supported the college as the title sponsor of the Superior Ag Golf Classic, raising more than $500,000 for scholarships and academic programs. With its induction into the College of Agriculture's Hall of Honor, Wittmeier Auto Center joins 20 other inductees who have supported agriculture education and the North State agriculture industry.
The ceremony took place during a reception at the University Farm arboretum. Approximately 150 guests enjoyed an array of fresh cheeses, sausages, almonds, local wine and beer, a silent auction and live music as the college inducted Wittmeier Auto Center as only the second business in its Hall of Honor.
The reception capped off the first day of the Sierra Oro Farm Trail Passport Weekend, which the University Farm participated in for the first time. For more information regarding the Hall of Honor contact Sarah DeForest at sdeforest@csuchico.edu.
