Brad Dodson Receives Chico Noon Rotary Award
Brad Dodson, an agriculture education professor in the California State University, Chico College of Agriculture, received the Chico Noon Rotary Club award for University Educator of the Year on April 19, 2011.
Jennifer Ryder Fox, dean of agriculture at CSU, Chico, nominated Dodson for the award. She said, “This award is well-deserved recognition of Dodson’s devotion to his students and to his profession.”Dodson has been instructing, coaching, and advising future agriculture teachers in the College of Agriculture for 11 years. “It’s a real honor to be recognized for something I love and value: teaching,” said Dodson.
Many students contribute much of their success in college and after to the guidance and encouragement from Dodson. One of those students, Suzanne Perrin, a junior in agriculture education said, “Dr. D pushes his students to be involved on campus and take leadership positions so we will make awesome teachers and leaders of the agriculture industry. He is also always there when you need him. All in all he is amazing and I feel privileged to have had a chance to get to know him and work with him.”
