“Aggie Ladies” Shaved Their Heads for St. Baldrick’s

On April 30, 2011 California State University, Chico College of Agriculture students Audra Harl, Elizabeth Hurd, and Suzanne Perrin teamed up and shaved their heads to raise awareness and money for childhood cancer research. The team dubbed themselves the “Aggie Ladies.”

The event was held at the CSU, Chico campus in coordination with St. Baldrick’s, which donates the money raised to support research to cure childhood cancer. So far the women have raised over $3,000; however their accounts will be open for donations for a year.

“Everyone was so supportive of us shaving our heads,” said Hurd. “It was like we were mini celebrities.”

The Aggie Ladies are planning to have a “Feel the Fuzz” fundraiser in the Free Speech area on campus. They will charge a small fee to feel their heads to continue to raise money for St. Baldrick’s.
