College of Agriculture


With more than $60,000 in University scholarships offered annually through the College of Agriculture, as well as countless private agricultural scholarships available from independent organizations, corporations, and individuals, there are many opportunities for students to offset the expenses of their education.  For more information about scholarships available through the College of Agriculture, please stop by the Student Success Office in Plumas 111, or call 530-898-4262.

Wildcat Scholarships (previously known as the CSU, Chico Scholarship) are administered through the Financial Aid and Scholarship Office. Complete details are available on their website. Wildcat Scholarship Application is open January 2 and complete applications are due February 15, 2018 for the coming academic year. Awards will be announced in late spring.

The College of Agriculture Recruitment Scholarship Applications are available in the fall for the following academic year. TRANSCRIPTS FOR THE RECRUITMENT SCHOLARSHIP MAY BE UNOFFICIAL. This scholarship is contingent upon admissions into California State University, Chico, and requires a declared major in one of the programs offered by the College of Agriculture, enrollment each semester as a full time student carrying a minimum of two courses offered through the College of Agriculture, and maintenance of a 3.0 GPA in university course work. This application is due December 15, 2017.

Within the recruitment scholarship pool is The Bell Family Presidential Scholarship is the largest scholarship endowment in the University. 
Recipients receive $5,000 per year for four years. Bell Family Presidential Scholars are selected from the College of Agriculture Recruitment Scholarship Applicant Pool based on academic achievement, commitment to agriculture, leadership, and civic engagement. To apply for the Bell Family Presidential Scholarship, students must first complete the College of Agriculture Recruitment Scholarship Application. Applicants who meet the academic eligibility for the Bell Family Presidential Scholarship, high school GPA of 3.5 and 1200 total SAT I Reasoning Test Score (includes verbal plus mathematics) or 27 ACT, will be invited to submit an essay for further consideration. Applicants must be first time freshman and current California residents.

Private Scholarships are offered by organizations, corporations, and individuals outside of the College of Agriculture. Although they are not administered by the University, many of these donors list their scholarship opportunities with the Student Success Office.
