Rollin Richmond

Acting President Appointed
California State University Chancellor Timothy P. White has appointed Rollin Richmond as acting president of California State University, Chico.  Current CSU, Chico President Paul J. Zingg recently underwent a medical procedure and is expected to fully recover following a recuperation period. Richmond will serve in a leadership role at the University until that time.   Read more...

Celebration of Life to be Held for Rick Rees, Former University Leader  
It is with great sadness we report that Rick Rees, longtime student affairs administrator and founding member and former director of CAVE, passed away Friday, March 6, in Chico at 63 years old. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 28 at 2 p.m. at the Lakeside Pavilion in Chico.  Read more...


Sacramento Mixer on March 1

Victory for Wildcats at Raley Field
On March 1, the Chico State men's baseball team defeated Sonoma State 7-2 at Raley Field in Sacramento. Before the game, the Sacramento Alumni Chapter met up at Yolo Brewing Company for lunch.  More than 50 alumni enjoyed lunch together before watching the Wildcat's victory. Read more... 


Founders Week

University Prepares for Founders Week, April 10-19
Founders Week is an annual spring celebration of California State University, Chico's achievements and traditions. Founders Week traces its roots back to 1909, when Charter Day was first held to remember the early days of the Normal School and to memorialize John Bidwell and deceased faculty. Read more... 


Deborah Ayres

Alumni Spotlight: Deborah Ayres
Deborah Ayres graduated from Chico State in 1980 with a BA in Physical Education. Growing up, Ayres' goal was to make sure women who play basketball never felt like they were "missing out."After years of coaching, she found her true calling, coaching deaf women. Ayres became the head coach for the Deaf National Women's team for the 2002 and 2010 World Games, both years winning gold medals for USA. On March 7, Ayres was inducted into the 12th annual Sports Hall of Fame at the Dan Foley Cultural Center in Vallejo.  Read more...
