A Q&A With New President Gayle Hutchinson
Chico State President Gayle Hutchinson's energy has been infectious since the accomplished former professor and dean returned to the University earlier this month. She spent more than two decades excelling in various leadership and instructional roles at Chico State before heading to a new post as provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at CSU, Channel Islands. CSU, Chico Ranked Among Nation's Best by Money Magazine
Among the 705 US colleges and universities that received a Money ranking, Chico State ranked 95th, the highest of any CSU campus. In the "50 Best Public Colleges" in the US list, Chico State is ranked No. 40. "The top schools in our ranking have the best overall combination of quality, affordability, and graduate success," said Kim Clark, senior writer at Money Magazine. Read more.


Center for Healthy Communities to Help Adults Enroll in Money-Saving Programs
The Center for Healthy Communities at Chico State, with support from Passages, has partnered with the National Council on Aging to be the North State Benefits Enrollment Center. The center will help eligible older adults and those with disabilities in Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Plumas, and Tehama Counties improve their financial outlook by enrolling in programs that save money on health care, prescriptions, food, and more.

Incoming Students Prepare for their Chico Experience at Ready, Set, Chico!
Alumni, parents, and current students welcomed incoming freshmen and transfer students at Ready, Set, Chico! throughout the end of July. These events took place from San Diego to Sacramento and helped students and their parents navigate the transition to college life. Alumni offered advice, insight, and suggestions of things not to be missed in Chico. See more photos.


Welcome New Wildcats on August 18
University Housing needs your help in welcoming our new Wildcats! Move-in has been shortened from four days to one day, which means it needs a lot of volunteers. Move-in will take place Thursday, August 18, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. All shifts are a minimum of 2 hours. There is no maximum, so you can sign up for as many as you can. All volunteers will receive a t-shirt and snacks!
