Gayle Hutchinson Gayle Hutchinson Appointed President
The California State University Board of Trustees has appointed Gayle E. Hutchinson president of CSU, Chico. Hutchinson is currently the provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at CSU, Channel Islands. Alumnus Michael Finney from ABC7 News Scheduled to Come to Campus 
Consumer advocate and Chico State alumnus Michael Finney ('78) is coming to campus on to speak to students and young alumni about negotiating large purchases. Finney started "7 On Your Side" on ABC7 News and over the years has returned millions of dollars to consumers. The event on March 29 is part of the eight Adulting 101 life skills workshops. This event is free for students and alumni and will take place on March 29 from 6 - 7 p.m. in the Bell Memorial Union room 220G. Learn more about Michael Finney.


Workshops Teach Life Skills to Students
The Alumni Association has teamed up with the Career Center and Student Life and Leadership to host the first ever Adulting 101 workshop on campus. The eight-part series aims to help students and recent graduates navigate their finances, professional life, and health as they become young adults. "There are a lot of 'adult' things I don't know anything about, and it can be intimidating to ask for help on something you should already know," says senior Carolina Perez. Read more about the workshop series.


Women's Track and Field TeamWildcats Rack Up Impressive Numbers at Hornet Invitational
Finally getting to compete in a match that didn't include rain, the Chico State women's track and field team took full advantage of the good weather. The Wildcats scored a number of top-20 finishes, including three NCAA Provisional Qualifying marks. Read mthe full story on the match.


Alumni Spotlight: Jasmine R. Linabary
Jasmine R. Linabary is a PhD and one of the 10 recipients of the K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award. She received her master's degree in communication studies in 2013 at Chico State and since has committed her time to advancing teaching and learning in both scholarship and practice, providing mentorship and support for graduate students. Read more about Jasmine Linabary.
