Alumni Support Wildcat Baseball

Chico State alums in the Sacramento area showed their support for the Chico State baseball team as they watched the Wildcats take on Sonoma State at the second annual Capital City Clash, held at Raley Field in Sacramento on Sunday, April 28.

"This year's Capital City Clash, while it didn't have the final result we had wished for, was still a great event for our fans and alumni in the Sacramento area. You couldn't have asked for a nicer evening for the game and the staff at Raley Field went above and beyond to make this an enjoyable experience for everyone. It's my hope we continue this event for many years to come," said Mitch Cox, assistant director for Chico State athletics.
Senior Send-off

More than 600 graduating seniors gathered at Trinity Commons on Tuesday, May 7 to celebrate graduation by taking part in the annual senior send-off event. This event is organized by the Alumni Association and students in the recreation 474 class and is meant to promote awareness of the Alumni Association as well as celebrate the accomplishments of all graduating seniors.  This year's event was the most successful to date, with graduates taking part in the fun, games, prizes and free food that was offered at the event.

A big thank you to Lundberg Farms, For Elyse, Glenbrook Apartments, Snapshots Photobooth, Somersault Snacks and GoGirl for your generous donations, all which help made this year's event a success.
Student Spotlight - Field School

Student Spotlight: Field School

Field School is a service learning program that offers Chico State students one unit for attending a weekend-long service learning trip.  "Field School gives recreation majors the opportunity to volunteer their time and learn more about the field we will be working in after graduation, it gives you a real feel for the industry," said Katie Rodgers, a junior majoring in recreation.

The CSU system offers approximately 2,600 service learning courses each year.  Most trips provide students with hands-on experience and focus on helping California National Parks with trails and wildlife. Field School coordinators Emilyn Sheffield and Jess Walter work diligently each year to make field school no cost for students. For more information on Field School, visit their Facebook page.
