CSU, Chico Celebrates the Class of 2016

Approximately 3,331 undergraduate and 240 graduate students took part in California State University, Chico's 126th Commencement exercises. Nine ceremonies welcomed the newest CSU, Chico graduates into the alumni family from May 18 through May 22. Photos from the ceremonies can be viewed online here.


Alum Gives $1M to Support Student Success
For alumnus Dennis Murphy (BS, Civil Engineering, '94), the concrete laboratory is what made his education come alive. Like many Wildcats, the CEO of Hayden Homes points to his outstanding faculty and the University's commitment to project-based learning as the keys to his success. That's why he teamed up with industry partners to help today's students engineer their dreams!

Bay Area Chapter Prepares for AT&T Park Event
For years, the Chico State Bay Area Alumni Chapter has planned a summer event at AT&T Park. This year the group will come together on June 11 to watch the Giants take on the Dodgers. This event is always a hit as alumni from across the Bay and as far away as Chico come out to socialize and root on their team. Learn more about the event at AT&T Park.


Alumni Network Launches in Portland
On May 14, the Portland Alumni Network held their inaugural event at Henry's Tavern. Two alumni from northern California just happened to be in Portland for the weekend. Both came to the event to share their Chico State pride with the local alums. There really are Wildcats everywhere!

Alumni Spotlight: Heidi Hannaman, '98
In her 18 years working in the California Legislature, Heidi Hannaman (BA, Communications and Political Science, '98) has seen her share of bills signed into law. "When that happens, we usually do a little happy dance in the office when we get the call, and move on," she says. But with Senate Bill 1266, known as the EpiPen Bill, it was different. She cried.
