The Wildcat Statue project is being sponsored by the Associated Students, Chico State Alumni Association, Chico State Intercollegiate Athletics and the University. Inspired by the Chico State wildcat mascot, the unique statue will capture the pride and spirit of the campus community and serve as a landmark for the University. Super Moon

CSU, Chico Campus Photographer Captures Stunning Photo of Blood Moon
The "super blood moon" rose on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015. University photography, Jason Halley, captured a breathtaking photo of the moon next to Trinity Hall on the Chico State campus. The combination of a supermoon and total lunar eclipse last occurred in 1982 and will not happen again until 2033! Read more...

Veterans Event

Chico State Prepares for Honoring Our Veterans Event
In honor of Veterans Day, Chico State is hosting a special recognition event for campus, alumni, and community veterans to thank them for their service in the armed forces. This event will take place on Nov. 9 in Colusa Hall and will feature a color guard, guest speakers, and exhibits.  RSVP today! 

The Chico Great Debate

Chico Great Debate Brings the Campus and Community Together
The Chico Great Debate aims to bring together members of the campus and community to investigate and engage in dialogue around a "hot topic" that has potential to divide us.  The next great debate is on Nov. 6 in the City of Chico Council Chambers and will focus on criminal justice. Students from various Communication Studies give presentations throughout the day and engage in respectful exchange and collaborative civic learning through civil discourse. Read more... 

Karen Gunther

Alumni Spotlight: Karen Gunther
Karen Colbie Gunther graduated from Chico State in 1984 with a degree in business and was president of Chico State's chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, an honorary organization for financial students and professionals. During her senior year, she was also a recipient of the prestigious Lt. Robert Merton Rawlins Merit Award. Karen is a CPA and currently works in the Sacramento area at Ellison Schneider & Harris, LLP. Two of her three sonds, Kurtis and Kyle, are both current students at Chico State. Kyle is a senior and is a 2015-16 recipient of the Lt. Robert Merton Rawlins Merit Award.  Read more...
