Alumni Association Scholarship
The Alumni Association offers four $1,000 scholarships based on the following criteria:
- Recipient must be the dependent of a Chico State alum
- Minimum 2.0 GPA
- Must complete the CSU, Chico Scholarship Application Form
The online scholarship application is available January 2 - February 15 on the Financial Aid & Scholarship Web site.
The Wayne Harder Memorial Scholarship
The Wayne Harder Memorial scholarship was established to honor the contributions of the late Wayne Harder who was instrumental in the founding of the Chico Chapter of the CSU, Chico Alumni Association. The scholarship is intended for a dependent of a Chico State alum, affirming the Alumni Association's commitment to supporting current and future students of Chico State.
Applicants must complete the CSU, Chico Scholarship Application on the Financial Aid & Scholarship Web site. The online application is available January 2 to February 15.
Graham Whitney Scholarship
The two Graham Whitney Scholarships, endowed by the Whitney family in the name of Chico State alum Graham Whitney (class of 1957), are awarded to incoming or returning Chico State students who have graduated from the Chico Unified School District. Whitney, a former Alumni Association president, founded the Chico Chapter Scholarship Development program. The scholarship was initiated in June 1999, and is funded by the proceeds from sales of water during the undergraduate commencement ceremonies.

The President's Scholars Program is an important part of CSU, Chico's commitment to the recruitment of highly qualified high school seniors, particularly from the North State. Since 1995, the university has offered selective scholarships to students who will enroll as first-time freshmen. For fall 2016, $20,000 President's scholarships ($5,000 per year for four years) will be offered to qualified students. President's scholarships will be offered to students in any major, including undeclared.
- Fall admissions application submitted during the months of October or November
- High school GPA of 3.5, and
- 1200 total SAT I Reasoning Test score (includes verbal plus mathematics), or a 27 composite ACT score
The Alumni Association President Scholarship was established in 2003 as a way for Chico State alumni to be able to give back to students and the university. Candidates must submit the online University Scholarship Application by February 15 and have at least one on-line letter of recommendation submitted on their behalf.
