What's New?

 

During the academic year, we have Academic Excellence Workshops for students who wish to excel in CSU Chico ge courses.

The courses may include Math 119 Precalculus, Math 120, 121, 220, 260 (The Calculus Series), Chemistry 111 General Chemistry, and Computer Science 111 and 211 Programming and Algorithms. The math workshops are offered 2 to 4 hours per week. All other are offered 2 hours per week. Our workshops are available for one unit of college credit.

Eligible workshop participants are encouraged to apply for Merit Awards, which take the form of $100 to $400 bookstore gift certificates. Eligibility requirements include ethnicity and major.

During the summer, we provide a 4-week Calculus Boot Camp to prepare students for the rigors of academia. (See APPLICATION). Successful participants receive a graphing calculator, supplies, and a $600 check in their fall semester workshop.

We also encourage students to participate in undergraduate research experiences. To this end we offer wages to students to work with faculty mentors. The faculty mentors receive funds for supplies. Contact us if you are interested.
