Public records request for employee compensation information

As in recent years, the Chico Enterprise Record has made a Public Records Act request for CSU, Chico employee compensation. The newspaper has made the information available on a website along with other public employee salary information -- http://www.chicoer.com/salaries. The new request covers compensation in fiscal year 2011-12.

As you may know, salary and classification data pertaining to state, county and municipal employees is public information, and so is subject to Public Records Act requests. It’s important to point out that compensation listed for individual employees in the newspaper may not match your W-2.

We appreciate how sensitive a subject compensation is, and thank you for your patience and understanding as we comply with this request for public information.
