GEOS Seminar: Dr. Jakob Mann, July 16

Jakob Mann will be visiting us from the Technical University of Denmark and giving a seminar on July 16 at 9 AM.

Dr. Mann is a well-known and respected scientist in atmospheric physics for his spectral velocity tensor model of atmospheric turbulence (published in the Journal of Fluid Mechanics in 1994) and his more recent works that develop models to quantify the limitations of Doppler lidars on the measurement of turbulence and turbulent fluxes.

Please join us Tuesday morning, July 16, at 9:00 for his seminar entitled "How can Doppler lidars measure turbulence in the lowest part of the atmosphere?"  The seminar will be held in PHSC 202.  Refreshments will be served.  For questions, please email Dr. Shane D. Mayor: sdmayor@csuchico.edu
