Chico State Hosts Conference for Foster Youth Advocacy Group
The California Youth Connection (CYC), an advocacy group for current and former foster youth, will host its annual Leadership and Policy Conference at California State University, Chico beginning Friday, July 26 and ending Monday, July 29.
At the conference, hosted by the organization’s Glenn Chapter and supported by its Butte Chapter, CYC youth facilitators will train members in leadership skills including conflict resolution, community organizing and facilitation. This year’s conference will focus on group-home reform, high school support services, sibling visitation and transitional housing/AB 12 housing.
Media and the public are invited to attend the luncheon presentation of youth policy recommendations on Monday, July 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Bell Memorial Union.
