Journalism Student Selected to Attend Competitive Newsroom Trainings

California State University, Chico journalism student Tercius Bufete has been selected to participate in prestigious training programs at two large journalism conferences this fall.

Bufete, a senior, will travel to New York City to attend the Asian American Journalists Association’s (AAJA) VOICES program, which provides live coverage of the organization’s 23rd Annual National Convention Aug. 21-24. Several months later, he will participate in the Online News Association’s (ONA) Student Newsroom, producing news content during the association’s 2013 Conference and Awards Banquet Oct. 17-20 in Atlanta, Ga.
