Build a Solar Cooker with Todd Harris, Jul. 20

Todd Harris, local advocate of solar cookers, will lead a Gateway Science Museum workshop on the science and engineering of a simple solar cooker using low-cost readily available materials. This workshop will focus on both the science of the activity and the sustainability inherent in it. Following step-by-step instructions and patterns, each participant will construct their own solar cooker to take home and enjoy a taste-test of food cooked using a solar cooker during the event.

Where:  Gateway Science Museum

When:   Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 1pm to 3pm

Who:  The 12 spaces will be filled on a first-paid, first-served basis. Minimum age is 12 years. One adult will be required to accompany participants aged 12 to 15 years.  For participants ages 16 to 17, a completed release form will need to be returned in addition to the registration form.

Cost: $20 for Gateway Science Museum members, $25 for non-members, includes all materials for one solar cooker and museum admission.
