Chances are you know someone experiencing a substance use or mental health disorder. You can help them. The groundbreaking evidence-based public education program Mental Health First Aid teaches you about common warning signs and risk factors for mental health and substance use problems and provides a five step action plan and resources for helping someone in crisis.   The Campus Alcohol and Drug Education Center, UMatter, the Counseling and Wellness Center and Student Health Services are thrilled to offer this evidence-based Certification Training to all students, staff and faculty through funding from the California Mental Health Services Act and support from the CSU Chancellor's Office.

WHAT:  Mental Health First Aid Certification Training 

WHEN: Tuesday, April 8 AND Thursday, April 10 – Both days from 4:00 PM – 8:30 PM (w/Dinner Break – Dinner NOT included) (Must Attend All 8 Hours for Certification)

PARTICIPANTS MUST ATTEND ALL DATES AND TIMES – COURSE TOTALS 8 HOURS OF TRAINING

COST$20 CASH Fully Refundable Course Deposit Due to CADEC PRIOR to first Course Date – CASH ONLY Deposit Returned Upon Course Completion/Certification

TO REGISTER: Come by the Campus Alcohol & Drug Education Center (CADEC) in Student Services Center, Room 180 and pay your $20 CASH Refundable Deposit

Course is facilitated by Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructors who are also full-time, CSU Chico professional staff members within CADEC & Counseling/Wellness
