The 3rd annual Out of the Darkness walk is a short walk to raise awareness about suicide and depression in our community. It is FREE to participate, however, donations gladly will be accepted. In addition to the walk, there will be numerous community and campus organizations tabling and giving out information and resources. There will be a guest speaker from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Butte County Behavioral Health, a survivor (someone who has lost a loved one to suicide) speaker Becky Kruse, a published author, and Scott Grundel, a Chico City Council Member. Volunteer opportunities are also available. Please consider promoting this event in your classroom (perhaps offering extra credit for attendance!).
