Office of Diversity and Inclusion invites you to the FOCUS Film Festival - next week!
Like movies? How about movies that feature a different take on issues such as autism, transgender issues, artistic expressions, and family issues? Differences make the world an interesting place.
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion has partnered with the FOCUS Film Festival to bring two days of exceptional films that promote diversity, disability, and inclusion to the Chico State campus. The broad spectrum of social issues addressed by this festival serves to educate students and others preparing to enter a diverse global environment, as well an reinforcing acceptance of our diverse student body to the staff and faculty.
Twenty-six films will be featured during the FOCUS Film Festival and will explore topics such as poverty, transgender issues, artistic endeavors, black culture, Arabic village life, the Holocaust, deaf culture, Autism, and more.
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion would like to invite you to attend this festival. The Festival will feature a Kick-Off at Sierra Nevada Big Room on Thursday, October 11 at 6:30 p.m. with live jazz followed by RAISING RENEE. The festival continues on Friday and Saturday October 12 and 13, at Colusa Hall, 9:30 AM to 9:00 PM daily.
