Trans-ending Oppression: CSU, Chico's Trans Conference (Apr. 3)

The AS Gender & Sexuality Equity Center (GSEC) invites YOU to the Third Annual Trans Conference, TRANS-ENDING OPPRESSION: "Nothing About Us, Without Us."

Please consider attending this conference, the only of its kind in the north state of California, planned by student activist leaders on CSU, Chico's campus. Register now for free if you're interested in joining the GSEC on Sunday, Apr. 3! Those who register early will receive one extra ticket to the raffle that will be announced during the Networking with Appetizers portion of the conference.

Did you know..? Jennicet Gutierrez, founding member of Familia: Trans Queer Liberation Movement (Familia: TQLM), will be joining the conference as the keynote speaker. She interrupted President Obama at the White House when she called for all LGBTQ+ identifying immigrants to be released from detention centers due to the disproportionate amount of violence they face while detained.

...Want to get entered into the raffle early?

The GSEC will be participating in a collaborative tabling fair on the Wednesday preceding the conference (Mar. 30) from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. in the Sutter Courtyard. Participants who win GSEC's "Trans Week Bingo" or write on the "Trans Lives Matter, Because..." chalkboard will get entered into a raffle.

Raffle winners will be announced at the conference, and winners must be present to win. Some prizes include a $25 gift card for any food station on CSU, Chico's campus, two WREC packages complete with 5 one-on-one sessions with a personal trainer, two free dinners at Tres Hombres, with more to come!
