Gender and Sexuality Equity Center Fall 2013 Event Dates
As you begin preparing your coursework for fall, please consider this great opportunity to incorporate the AS Gender and Sexuality Equity Center events to your syllabi.
Queer Week: October 7th-11th
Queer Week is a weeklong event that will focus on a diverse range of gender, sex, and sexuality issues. The events consist of performances, workshops, social events and open discussions. The culminating event of the week will be a pride march through the streets of downtown empowering the LGBTQ+ community and allies, as well as raising awareness in our community.
Take Back the Night: November 7th
Take Back the Night is an opportunity for students and community members to unite to break the silence surrounding the ongoing issue of violence against women and rape culture, specifically sexual assault and intimate partner violence. This event aims to create a safe space to empower survivors while educating supporters and the surrounding community.
LGBTQ+ Conference: November 17th
LGBTQ+ Conference will focus on LGBTQ+ theory and issues. The conference features a keynote address by a prominent LGBTQ+ leader and smaller workshops presented by Chico State professors, community members and non-profit organizations.
