Dispelling Myths for Older Adults/Boomers around the Affordable Care Act, Nov. 13

The Interdisciplinary Center on Aging presents: The Affordable Care Act (ACA) has brought about some important benefits and protections for people with Medicare (65 year & older) and also for the “older adult/baby boomer” audience (60-64 years olds), who do not have access to Medicare yet but cannot afford insurance in the current marketplace. 

Come and learn:

Overview of the Affordable Care Act;

"Just the facts" about ACA and Medicare;

Subsidies and insurance plans available for baby boomers not yet 65;

Coverage for those with pre-existing conditions

How affordable is affordable?

Expanded Medi-Cal will be covering childless, non-elderly, & non-disabled individuals; and

No asset test for Expanded MediCal and increase in the allowable income for eligibility
