Secrets of NSF Proposals: The Project Description from a former NSF Program Director

Dr. E. K. Park, former NSF Program Director, will share his wisdom and other “secrets” for drafting competitive proposals to this funding agency. This year’s presentation will focus on the Project Description. Like the Project Summary, this 15-page narrative forms the basis for all NSF proposals. Dr. Park will detail each of its elements.  He’ll elaborate on expectations by Program Directors and panel reviewers plus strategies such as how to expand the Intellectual Merit and Broader Impact sections introduced in your Summary, when to incorporate graphics, showcasing management teams and evaluation plans, and other important components.  There will also be information on NSF-announced changes for preparing all proposals after January 13, 2013.  New and seasoned researchers – plus your questions -- foster better discussion so all are welcome!

Join Dr. Park, Vice Provost for Research, Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, on Wednesday, November 28, 1-3:30 p.m., in SSC 150.  Seating is limited and refreshments will be served so RSVP to Mary Wilby at x5700 to secure a spot.
