Queer Week THIS WEEK

The AS Gender & Sexuality Equity Center (GSEC) is putting on Queer Week! Queer Week aims to educate students and members of the Chico community on Queer issues and show support for the LGBT*Q+ community. This is a week-long series of events spanning from Monday, October 6th through Saturday, October 11th. There will be a culminating Pride March on Friday at 5pm. The theme of the week is: “Out is in: Unity in Community.” Please join our Facebook event page if you are interested in more details and updates regarding the following events.

Tuesday, October 7th

Safe Zone Ally Training

  • 9am-11am in Studio A of the Meriam Library

Informational Tabling and Tie Dying

  • 6-8pm in the UHUB

Wednesday, October 8th

Informational Tabling Fair

  • 10am-2pm in Trinity Commons with a teach-out at 12pm

Wear your Rainbow Colors Day, encouraged by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion

Thursday, October 9th

Pride and University Housing co-hosting a play

  • 6pm at UHUB

Friday, October 10th

Pre-march gathering

  • 4pm in BMU 005

Pride March

  • 5pm at Trinity Commons

Saturday, October 11th

National Coming Out Day!

  • Wear rainbows all day!

Coming Out for Art show and reception - hosted by Stonewall Alliance

  • 6pm-12am in the Great State Coffee Company, 3881 Benatar Way
