Queer Week: Oct. 8-15

In collaboration with many campus and community organizations, the Associated Students Gender and Sexuality Equity Center (GSEC) is celebrating Queer Week!

Queer Week aims to educate the Chico community on LGBTQ+ issues and show support for the queer community. This is a week-long series of events from Saturday, Oct. 8 through Saturday, Oct. 15.

This year’s Queer Week theme is “We All Beat with One Pulse” to commemorate the victims, survivors, and families of the Pulse Orlando tragedy. The entire schedule can be found on the GSEC webpageHere is the first three days of events:

Saturday, October 8

- “Coming Out for Art” Show hosted by Stonewall Alliance from 6:30pm–1pm at Habitat Lab (199 E 13th St)

Monday, October 10

- Safe Zone Ally Training by LGBTQ+ Staff from 10–12pm in Colusa Hall

- Being Latinx & LGBTQ+ by Chicano/Latino Council at 6:00pm in BMU 210

Tuesday, October 11 (National Coming Out Day)

- LGBTQ+ Healthy Relationships by Catalyst Domestic Violence Services at 2:00pm in Colusa Hall 100B

- Informational Tabling & Tie-Dying Fair hosted by University Housing at 6:00pm in Sutter Courtyard

- Coming Out Party: Celebrating National Coming Out Day at 8pm in the UHUB

- Reading by Radar Productions Creative Director Michelle Tea at 7:30pm at 1078 Gallery (820 Broadway St)
