UNCP--T H A N K Y O U from Staff Council!
Thank you, everyone who participated in the University Needy Children Program this year!
I appreciate the departments and individuals who adopted families, those who raised money for grocery certificates, merchants and departments who donated to the fundraiser and everyone who bought tickets, the supervisors who supported your staff and allowed them to participate during normal business hours, community businesses who adopted families, the University Farm for letting us use their facilities again, retired staff who took the time to make sure we were secure out there, the social workers who nominated families and came and picked up gifts for distribution, everyone who brought goodies (and provided warm beverages), Staff Council members who added manpower to the program, the brave soul who rescued a bag of gifts from Hwy 99 and stopped traffic to do so, the student organizations who injected their enthusiasm by adopting and fundraising, Kohl’s for giving a discount, FoodMaxx for the discounted gift cards…
I am overwhelmed by the support, and giving nature, of our campus community—so if I forgot someone, let me know! We served 83 families with 168 children this year, provided over $4200 in grocery gift cards, and proved to ourselves that we can unite when it is important. Thank you, thank you, thank you all! You should be proud, because I am!
