17th Annual Women's Conference Sunday (11/8)

The AS Gender and Sexuality Equity Center (GSEC) is hosting the 17th Annual Women’s Conference. This conference is focusing on different cultural perspectives on feminism and women’s rights. The conference will be held on Sunday, November 8 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. with check-in starting at 12:30 p.m. in the Bell Memorial Union Auditorium at CSU, Chico. [The event will start with the keynote speaker, Maria Elena Llana, at 1 p.m. This will be followed by the first break-out session at 2 p.m. with multiple options, including a workshop by Kate McCarthy focusing on spirituality and feminism and a workshop by Desiree Stevens and Mari Becerra focusing on intersectional feminism. This will be followed by another break-out session at 3 p.m., which includes a workshop facilitated by Krystle Tonga. The last event of the day is a culminating panel at 4 p.m. with panelists: Sher Thao, Krystle Tonga, and Mim Roeder.]
