Associated Students Gender and Sexuality Equity Center (GSEC) will be hosting our biannual Take Back the Night event on Thursday, November 7, 2013. This event is an opportunity for students and community members to gather together and recognize the ongoing issue of rape culture and violence against women. This is a night to acknowledge and empower survivors of sexual assault, and to educate friends, family and supporters.
Staring at 6:00 p.m. in the BMU Auditorium there will be a keynote speaker, followed by a 15 minute interlude for attendees to move to their desired next activity. At 6:45 p.m. there will be two survivor speak outs, one gender inclusive (BMU 210) and one women only (Old Common Grounds), and a gender inclusive workshop on rape culture in the BMU Auditorium.
