Local Students Focus on Science at Chico State’s MESA Day

California State University, Chico will be bustling with science, math and engineering activity on Saturday, March 9, 2013, when 150 young students from local middle and high schools arrive to showcase their projects at the annual MESA Day sponsored by the Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement (MESA) initiative. Students will race mousetrap cars, test prosthetic arms and gliders, crush bridges and drop eggs from tall buildings—the gooiest event of all! Activities will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the following buildings on the west side of campus: Langdon Hall, O’Connell Technology Center, Yolo Hall and Shurmer Gym. The egg drop will take place at Butte Hall from 12:20 to 1 p.m.
