Grant Opportunity for Undergraduate Students!

Funds have been allocated by Provost Belle Wei for the Spring and Summer 2014 Undergraduate Awards for Research & Creativity. These awards were created to support undergraduate students working closely with individual faculty members on student-designed projects and to assist the faculty in providing students with special innovative learning opportunities.

  • Spring awards of up to $500 each will be made available to undergraduates (including graduating seniors).
  • Summer stipends of $2,000 each will be made available to undergraduates (including graduating seniors).
  • Except under extraordinary circumstances, a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above is required.

Interested qualified undergraduate students are encouraged to go to: for more information and applications. Application deadline for both the Spring and Summer awards is Monday, March 10th, 2014 at 5pm. You do not need to be an Honors student to apply.

Applicant information meetings are scheduled for Monday, February 24th, 12:30-1:30pm in SSC 122/124, and Thursday, February 27th, 12:30-1:30pm in SSC 306. Attending an informational meeting is encouraged but not mandatory. Interested applicants need only attend one, not both.

These awards are an exceptional and unique opportunity for students to create their own research or creative projects under the guidance of a faculty advisor.
