Upward Bound Summer 2014 Employment Opportunity
Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, the CSP Supervisor will assist in the operation and implementation of the career exploration component. The CSPS will directly assist in the supervision of the Upward Bound community service projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supervision of up to six high school students, instructing and monitoring participants, possibility of driving students to community service locations, compliance with Workforce Investment Act (WIA), other applicable regulations particularly in the area of safe work practices, and child labor laws. The CSPS must be able to write clear and concise student performance and final program evaluations.
Must have the abilities to be organized, lead, motivate, and mentor high school students are necessary skills. Previous experience supervising adolescents is highly desirable and the ability to implement the specific goals of the positions described below.
The CSPS will oversee a community service project that will benefit the university, a local organization, or community agency in raising awareness efforts in the areas of sustainability.
Regular hours will be Monday-Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. from June 16-July 22, 2014. If hired there will be mandatory safety training and CPR Training (TBA), and Orientation meetings on June 10th and June 11th.
Employment is contingent on a background clearance (fingerprinting).
$9.00 per hour.
