The Chico State Career Center is proud to introduce Ambassador Lewis A. Lukens, who will be available to answer questions and provide information on internships and careers with the US Department of State. All majors are recruited!

Ambassador Lukens assumed his duties as Diplomat in Residence in September 2014. Most recently he served as US Ambassador to Senegal and Guinea-Bissau. Prior to that posting, he was Executive Director of the State Department’s Executive Secretariat from 2008-2001, leading a team that provided all logistical and travel support to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and other senior-level State Department officials. Prior postings also include serving as Consul General in Vancouver, British Columbia; Executive Secretary at the US Embassy in Baghdad; Management Counselor at the US Embassy in Dublin; Senior Director for Administration at the National Security Council; and posts in Australia, Cote d’Ivoire and China, as well as several jobs in the Department’s Executive Secretariat.
