On September 10, 2014 – 9 am to 12 pm, a panel of experts will speak on ‘Each Mind Matters: Stigma and Mental Health’. Location: Selvester’s 

One in four American Adults in a given year are living with a diagnosable mental illness, but many of them are afraid to reach out for help they need. Come to this workshop to learn about resources in our region and hear stories of hope, resilience and recovery. A film ‘A New State of Mind: Ending the Stigma of Mental Illness’ narrated by Glenn Close will be screened.

On October 8, 2014 - 9:00am to12:00pm, Patty Hunter, Professor, School of Social Work will speak on ‘Boomers, Gen X-ers, Millennials: Why Can't We all Just Get Along?’ Location: To be assigned.

This workshop will take a look at the multigenerational workforce that currently exists. This is the first time in our history that there are four different generations represented in the workforce, and it presents both challenges and opportunities. We will explore some of these and discuss what is important to keep in mind when dealing with these various generations.
