Taking the Graduate Record Exam (GRE)? Attend weekly workshops, designed to prepare participants for the analytical writing portion of the exam. The workshops will provide an overview of the GRE structure and scoring system, effective test-taking and writing strategies, and timed writing practice in a supportive learning environment.    

Students may sign-up in advance online, but drop-ins are also welcome!

 

Topics*:

Week 1: GRE Overview: In-depth look at prompts and guidelines

Week 2: Test-taking and writing strategies. Review of basic essay structure & theses

Week 3: Tackling the “Argument” essay requirement

Week 4: Tackling the “Issue” essay requirement

 

*Different materials will be covered each week. Students are encouraged to attend all four Monday sessions or all four Wednesday sessions. Contact the Student Learning Center for more information.
